Common Operating Picture
3Csafe™ creates a common operating picture, which provides all the information you require for keeping your school a safe place. The common operating picture contains all the important important needed to effectively deal with incidents of any size, such as maps and floor plans of campuses and buildings. The maps in 3Csafe™ are enhanced with a large variety of different types of data like pictures and information about infrastructure and classrooms, information about students, staff and other persons or video footage from cameras. 3Csafe™'s common operating picture technology shows combines all the information required to handle incidents and emergencies into one view. The common operating pictures always shows the most current situation of your buildings and campus for all users of the system and updates are instantly visible to anyone from anywhere in real-time. Latest web technology ensures cross-platform availability of the common operating picture on virtually any computer with a browser, including mobile devices. Most importantly, the 3Csafe™ system platform was designed with ease-of-use as the main focus to allow users to efficiently use the system in particular under the pressure of an emergency situation without requiring expert knowledge or special training.
Map and floor plan view
After logging in to the 3Csafe™ map view, the structure of your campus, buildings, floors and related objects is shown. Aerial imagery, maps and floor plans can be associated with every building or campus. 3Csafe™'s mapping technology provides maps at 10 different zoom levels, allowing users to focus on areas of interest. The maps and floor plans contain objects representing information about your campus or buildings such as utility shutoffs, incidents, hazards, students, classrooms, surveillance cameras etc. The map itself can be dragged by holding the left mouse button down and moving the mouse around.
System and incident status summary
The status bar at the top gives an overview of the current system status. This includes the current connectivity state of the browser i.e., whether it is connected to the server or not. In addition, the current number of alerts in the whole system is shown. Clicking on the alert count brings up a menu showing the list of alerts. The status bar also shows how many and which other users are currently online, i.e., logged into the 3Csafe™ system, as well as the current user's name. |

Data integration and storage

3Csafe™ integrates a large variety of data sources and makes them accessible from within the map and floor plans.
One of the most powerful features is the integration of live and recorded surveillance video through 3Csafe™'s integrated digital video recorder (DVR). The DVR is fully featured, supporting timeline search, random access, multiple playback and reverse speeds, date and time field search, tamper-proof video download and more. Access to live and recorded video streams is available with a simple mouse click from the maps and floor plans of the common operating picture. Even inexperienced users can add, configure and control cameras to the common operating picture. Other sources of information supported by 3Csafe™'s common operating picture include student information systems and similar databases. Together with information about student's and teacher's schedules, it is possible to identify the location of persons within a building or on a campus. |

The map view also allows storing documents that are required in case of emergencies. Users can store any document type (pdf, MS Word, MS Excel, pictures, etc.) and organize documents in categories. For example, it is useful to store emergency procedures for each emergency type covered by your emergency operations plan so staff has easy access to the steps to be carried out when the emergency happens. Documents are also searchable for easy retrieval.
Alerting
3Csafe™ enables users to post real-time alerts in the common operating picture, notifying others about important events such as incidents, important status updates, etc. Alerts are instantly visible to all other users connected to the system and can be enhanced with detailed information about the alert, including text and snapshot images from video cameras. The common operating picture is enhanced with a powerful and flexible search function, able to find and locate any object and piece of information stored in the system. This enables users to instantly locate incidents, infrastructure elements such as utility shutoffs as well as persons on campuses and in buildings. Multi-purpose
The common operating picture can be used for more than emergency management. It allows also carrying out basic facility management tasks, handling maintenance requests, assigning tasks, creating todo lists for staff or external personnel, etc.
